In more ways than one, Friction is not your stereotypical hip hop artist. Whether it be his underground writing mixed with commercial productions or the fact that he has two degrees and currently works in the government, Friction likes to take his listener to a new form of rap music.
Born Marc Massey and growing up in Newport News, Virginia, Friction blasts you with a satirical, fast-paced, multi-syllabic rhyme scheme filled with witty punch lines. He likes to make the end user think about every single word and put it all together in a big picture. He has been writing music since the age of 12 and has been making beats since 16. His musical influences include a wide array of artists, most notably Eminem, Eyedea, Llamabeats, and Double Helix.
